Fast Detection of Small IC Chips

Compact Q12 Series sensor fits into confined spaces to reliably count passing integrated circuits

Integrated circuits are tiny silicone plates that can be anywhere from 2 to 7 square mm in size. These circuits, after the production is completed, get shipped out in mass quantities – making it vital that every circuit is tracked and counted with accuracy. Successfully detecting the presence of integrated circuit chips in a confined space is a challenge that requires powerful, accurate sensing in a miniature housing.

Q12 Allows Flexible Mounting

There are few sensors on the market that combine the high-power sensing capabilities necessary to count tiny objects accurately with the miniature size required to fit comfortably alongside the circuits. Detection of the circuits that pass by must keep up with the rapid pace and be able to reliably and accurately detect the units.

Your Benefits

  • Sensor monitoring leads to higher output quality and permanent quantitative data
  • No need for expensive production alterations, since the Q12 is an ultra-minature sensor with various mounting options
  • Low risk of sensor failure due to a solid housing featuring overmolded design and IP67 conformance

  • The Q12 miniatur sensor detects IC chips as they pass by

  • Thanks to compact design it fits comfortably on the manufacturing line

Banner Engineering has responded to this challenge by developing an ultra-miniature compact Q12 sensor that easily keeps up with the integrated circuits and fits comfortably on the manufacturing line.

Narrow Beam of Collimated, Visible Read Light

The Q12 opposed-mode miniature sensors are easily installed within small indentations on the inside of a narrow line upon which the circuits ride past. The Q12 emits a narrow beam of collimated, visible red light that detects each tiny circuit and transmits the information to a counting device. This miniature Q12 sensor is also incredibly durable, with models available that function reliably in wet or corrosive environments.
